UNMATCHED SAFETY RECORD
Other manufacturers may make this claim with limited timeframe data, but Schweizer holds the true safety record for all single-engine, piston-powered helicopters when its entire history is compared to that of other similar helicopters.
It begins with our aircraft’s beginnings. The original Hughes 269, which is the basis for today’s S300 models, was designed to be a flight training aircraft. It meets the stringent performance and survivability requirements of the U.S. military and as a result, flew as a U.S. Army trainer for more than 20 years with only one fatality.
Since it first rolled off the production line in 1956, thousands of these aircraft, now the Schweizer 300C and 300CBi, have flown around the world with an outstanding safety record due to the aircraft’s superior design and safety features:
- 8-belt drive system
- Stable high inertia rotor system
- Fully articulated three bladed rotor system is not subject to mast bumping phenomenon
- Rounded cockpit design for maximum survivability
- Energy attenuating seats and landing system
